Jobs for Michigan:
Michigan’s number one priority must be jobs. We have a budget problem because we have a jobs problem. We have to get to the root of this crisis by focusing on job retention and creation. We can’t keep fighting Indiana, other states, and even other countries for every single job. I know what it takes to bring and to keep jobs here.
It’s MY number one priority. Retaining and bringing jobs to Michigan will take real leadership and experience. I’ve worked hard over the last 30 years to bring jobs to Southwest Michigan, fighting government taxes and intrusion every step of the way. I know what it takes to bring and retain jobs and you can count on me to use my 30 years of economic development experience to work hard for Michigan jobs.
Common sense government:
Now is not the time to take small steps. Michigan needs to make bold reforms to get back on track. As legislators it is our job to look at every option and sometimes to take unpopular positions in order to do the right thing.
It’s time to put our priorities first and to build the budget from the bottom up - not the top down.
It’s time to take a careful look at the role government plays. To use common sense in our decision making process and to focus on our priorities – creating jobs, improving our quality of life, decreasing your tax burden, and educating our children.
